Water Feature - Mt Roskill

Located in Mt Roskill this water feature serves as both a decorative backdrop and a divider between outdoor living spaces. This stunning water feature wall spans 91 sqm and is finished with RockPanel’s Stack Stone in black on both faces. The client’s vision was to create a feature that offered visual texture as water continuously flowed over both sides of the wall. However, they faced challenges finding a product that didn’t require extensive engineering to support the weight of real stone or tile.

Our Stack Stone product not only provided the desired texture for the water to bounce over but also solved the weight concerns. Unlike traditional stone products, RockPanel is lightweight, making it ideal for large installations without the need for engineered reinforcements. Additionally, the ease of installation made it the perfect choice for this project, allowing for quick and efficient install given the project had already been delayed.

The result is a visual feat on both sides and showcases how RockPanel can deliver the appearance of real stone without the associated challenges & costs.

Commercial Fitout - Culture Fades Cambridge

This 38 sqm wall is a standout feature in the new Culture Fades barber shop in Cambridge, New Zealand. The client wanted a welcoming, decorative stone look but needed something that had the feel of real stone without the weight and hassle of a complicated installation.

They went with RockPanel’s Ledge Stone in beige because it’s easy to install and gives that natural stone look. The textured finish really adds some depth and contrast to the space, creating a nice contrast with the shop’s sleek black leather couches and the polished gold accents.

The panels were fixed with a nail gun, which made for a quick and professional finish. The best part? The client loved that the panels are low-maintenance, keeping the shop looking fresh without a lot of effort.

RockPanel is not just about looks—it’s also super durable, which is a big plus in a busy spot like a barber shop. The Ledge Stone panels hold up well to wear and tear and are easy to clean, making them perfect for high-traffic areas. They’re also budget-friendly since you don’t need the extra support that real stone would require, making them a great option for a commercial fit-out like this.

Decorative Overclad - Clarkes Beach

This 40sqm project involved the re-cladding of a residential home in Clarkes Beach, New Zealand, where the client wanted to achieve a natural stone look for the bottom portion of their house. After considering the expense and complexities of getting consent for a full reclad, the client decided to use RockPanel’s Ledge Stone in beige as a decorative overlay, saving significantly on costs while still achieving the aesthetic transformation they desired.

The Ledge Stone RockPanel was applied directly over the existing cladding using adhesive, which maintained the weather-tight integrity of the original cladding system. The client was especially pleased with this solution as it avoided any penetration or disruption to the building envelope. To further enhance the look, RockPanel Sills were added under the window frames, and the RockPanel external feature corners provided a finished, cohesive look at the edges.

Since completing the installation, the client decided to update the colour scheme of the home. After consulting with a paint specialist, they successfully repainted the RockPanel, completely transforming the look of the house once again. The new colour scheme gave the home a modern, refreshed appearance while still showcasing the original stone-like texture of the RockPanel.

The result is a beautiful and durable upgrade to the home’s exterior, achieved at a fraction of the cost and complexity of a full recladding project.

Communal Commercial Bathrooms - Top 10 Taupo

As part of a major upgrade to their communal bathroom facilities, the Taupo Top 10 Holiday Park chose to renovate their toilet and shower blocks using 161 sqm of silver/white wet wall panels combined with white PVC joiners. These sleek, water-resistant panels were installed across multiple areas, including the shower blocks, disabled toilets, and the main male and female bathroom facilities.

The wet wall panels provide a modern, easy-to-clean surface, making them ideal for high-traffic areas like communal bathrooms. Their glossy finish complements the tiled floors and modern fixtures, creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere for guests. The use of our PVC joiners ensured seamless installation and a clean, professional look throughout the space.

By incorporating these panels, the park now enjoys a durable, low-maintenance solution that will stand up to the demands of frequent use while still maintaining a contemporary style. The renovations have transformed the bathrooms into bright, functional spaces that enhance the guest experience at the holiday park.

Residential Kitchen - Taupo

A big project we’ve used our WetWall lining Panel for is the fit-out of a commercial bach in Taupo. Silver WetWall lining was used in the kitchen and breakfast bar areas as an easy to clean kickback.

Marks are simple to wipe off this surface, while the reflective finish always looks shiny and new. The silver perfectly complimented the grey and tea colours of the house. In addition to this, the silver was added to an alcove in the lounge, brightening the small space up and making it appear larger.

Black WetWall lining was used in the kitchen as a splashback above the oven. This is perfect for food spaces as it can be easily wiped clean and has five layers of protection against any spillages.

In the bathroom, a rectangle grooved WetWall lining was used to create the look of a tiled bathroom without all the hassle of messing with grout and tile-cutting.

Outdoors, the WetWall lining was used as cladding to provide a modern feel to a once-dated property. Home-owner, Wendy, says of the project, “My house has been transformed by these products from Pyramid Panels”.
